COVID-19/CORONAVIRUS OPERATIONS
Regarding Executive Order 20-91, we are following the direction of the order and deferring to the Department of Homeland Security's CISA Guidance on the Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce for "Workers supporting the operations of the judicial system". Most service of process and related operations are continuing as normal pursuant to this guidance and local guidance from the 15th Judicial Circuit and the Broward Sheriff's Office. This guidance is subject to change at any time, and the most recent updates will be posted to our Google, Facebook, and Twitter social media platforms.
For services at addresses out of town or out of state, they are being handled on a case-by-case basis. Judicial Circuits are allowing private process servers and Sheriff's deputies to elect not to serve process should they be concerned about their and other's health and well being. We are experiencing delays and service interruptions in some judicial circuits around Florida and around the nation, especially in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas, and California.
The team at Advantage remains dedicated to slowing the spread of the virus, and our partners are taking steps including no contact service, hygiene and masks, washing between addresses, and the printing of fresh documents daily. If servers are experiencing symptoms we are asking they refrain from service for 14 days after symptoms subside, and respecting those servers who are vulnerable and/or concerned for their health.
Courier and document retrieval services are digital only and experiencing heavy delays. All filing must be done electrically, and our specialist can assist creating a Florida Courts e-portal electronic filing account. We are still performing e-recording. We are encouraging those needing notary services to utilize e-notary options, which are readily available through and online search and 50 state legal.
